American Powertrain TREMEC TKX-600 5-Speed Manual Transmission w/ .81 Overdrive

The latest generation of the TREMEC 5-speed transmission, the American Powertrain TKX offers several big improvements over the last-gen TKO. It supports up to 600 lb-ft of torque.

– Wider, more durable gears than TKO transmission
– Caged needle bearings for improved durability

At only 99 pounds, the TKX is roughly 30 pounds lighter than a T-56 Magnum 6-Speed. It also keeps the modular shifter location possibilities of the previous generation.

The internals have been redesigned to reduce noise and increase durability. It’s thanks to unique materials like nickel-molybdenum steel. The robust construction primes it to handle 7500 RPM shifts all day.

Tech Tip: Fluid capacity is 2.7 quarts. Use of TREMEC High-Performance Manual Transmission fluid or Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF is highly recommended.
